SOLAREXPRESS COMPATIBILE WITH
MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP
SolarExpress 4-Port
USB PC Card First to Demonstrate
Interoperability with Windows XP
LAKE FOREST, Calif., June 4, 2001 -- Twin Paradox,
a leading manufacturer of connectivity solutions for mobile computer users,
today announced that its SolarExpress 4-port host USB (universal serial
bus) PC Card is the first product of its kind to operate with Microsofts
next-generation Windows XP operating system.
In 1999, Windows and Intel announced The Easy PC Initiative
in a joint effort to increase customer satisfaction by developing Windows
XP, a software platform designed for novice PC users. Because of the removal
of DOS, Windows XP -- using Windows 2000 core technology -- will offer
consumers a more enhanced USB experience. Windows XP is scheduled for
fall release.
SolarExpress is a four-port host USB PC Card capable of
supporting 48Mbps (megabits per second) of bandwidth allowing laptop users
to connect multiple computer peripherals simultaneously. Operating at
the core of the product is Ageres latest QuardraBus IC technology,
offering users 12 Mbps of sustained bandwidth per port.
Our testing with SolarExpress on the Windows XP Beta
2 demonstrates our continued commitment to offer seamless product compatibility
for the USB peripheral marketplace, said Fred Bhesania, Microsoft
USB program manager. Twin Paradoxs SolarExpress 4-port host
PC Card presents a nice solution on our next-generation Windows XP operating
system.
We are pleased to support Microsofts Windows
XP operating system, said Curtis Lewis, president, Twin Paradox.
The companys testing results validate the technology behind
our SolarExpress product. Twin Paradox is committed to provide mobile
computer users with innovative USB connectivity solutions.
Twin Paradoxs SolarExpress PC Card, with a manufacturers
suggested retail price of US $149, is currently available at local retailers
and through the Twin Paradox Web site at
